The head of the military intelligence service of the Libyan National Army (LNA), which controls eastern and parts of southern Libya, was killed in a car bomb attack. The army announced this.
The command of the Libyan National Army (ANL) announced in a press release in the middle of the night the death in a car bomb attack of military leader Fauzi Al-Mansouri, one of the most important in the country, fustigating a " cowardly and criminal act".
Fawzi al Mansouri, director of military intelligence of the Libyan National Army, died in an attack aboard his car. Meanwhile, an important petrol tank was fired in Zawiya, an area controlled by the authority of Tripoli but held hostage by the militias.
He leaves the mosque and is killed shortly afterwards by a car bomb. The head of the East Libyan military secret service becomes the victim of an assassination. According to experts, it is the first attack on a senior member of the LNA militia for years.
