After several cities such as Biarritz, Bayonne, Bidart or Chamonix, it is the turn of Cancale, Brittany, to reserve construction to the main residences in order to solve the tensions related to the local real estate market.
The existing stock is not affected by this provision, only new dwellings are concerned, in particular they will have to be occupied as principal residence at least eight months a year (excluding professional or sanitary grounds) and tourist rental will be limited to 120 days a year.
The Breton tourist town of Cancale (Ille-et-Vilaine), which suffers from a high real estate pressure due to the multiplication of secondary residences, has banned the realization of new constructions of this type, following the example of Basque cities and Chamonix
