Canada's Capital's Tourism Industry Expected to Be Strong This Summer

Representatives of the Austrian tourism industry are optimistic about the upcoming summer. According to the tourism marketing organization "Österreich Werbung" (ÖW), 22.5 million guests from the ten most important markets have plans to leave this country or have already booked in the summer. In the same study in the previous year, 21 million guests were expected for the summer of 2024.

One driving factor is Canadians' desire to vacation close to home. Jérôme Miousse, director of public affairs for the city's tourism agency, told Ottawa Business Journal that 90 per cent of visitors to the capital are domestic, with the largest number of visitors coming from within driving distance of Ottawa.
