Chao Xu admitted to drugging and sexually assaulting at least 12 women over three years, using hidden cameras to record his crimes, police said.
- At Woolwich Crown Court on Friday, Chao Xu, 33, pleaded guilty to 24 sexual offences and recorded attacks with hidden cameras, including one inside an air freshener, and was remanded ahead of a November 14, 2025 sentencing hearing.
- During a networking event earlier this year, police were first alerted after the unnamed female guest became unwell at his Greenwich flat, and Xu offered her to stay before drugging and raping her multiple times.
- Court records list admitted offences that include four rapes, eight assaults by penetration, multiple sexual assault and voyeurism charges, plus two counts each of administering a substance with intent and operating equipment beneath clothing; upskirting involved cameras at a workplace and London Bridge underground station.
- The Metropolitan Police found hundreds of intimate images on Xu's phone and are appealing for more victims, while Suzanne Crane, Crown Prosecution Service, said Xu had targeted women deliberately.
- Detectives say their investigation is ongoing and they continue to examine a large volume of evidence to identify further potential victims, while Recorder Simon Stirling told Xu his guilty pleas will likely lead to a lengthy custodial sentence and ordered a psychological assessment to determine dangerousness.
