Military Camp De Donck was officially opened on Friday on the outskirts of Dongen. Before the summer, it was just a grassy field, but it has been rapidly transformed into a living and working space for future officers of the Army, Air Force, and Marechaussee. Armed Forces leaders have traditionally been trained in Breda, but the army is growing so rapidly that Breda has insufficient space for future officers. The Royal Military Academy (KMA) is therefore relocating to an old barracks in Dongen that the Ministry of Defence had almost said goodbye to.
