- After the Indian Olympic Association cleared the bid on August 13, 2025, it aligned with India’s long-term goals, including hosting the Olympic Games 2036, finalising before the August 31 deadline.
- Ahmedabad is being pitched as the ideal host with Narendra Modi Stadium and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Sports Enclave venues, while 72 nations' participation is expected to boost tourism and jobs, officials said.
- The Cabinet cleared signing the Host Collaboration Agreement and guarantees from concerned ministries, and sanctioned grant-in-aid to the Gujarat Government if the bid succeeds.
- The General Assembly of Commonwealth Sport will decide the host in the last week of November in Glasgow, and a final decision is likely in the coming year amid CGF host withdrawals by Victoria and Canada.
