Cabinet Approves ₹18,500 Crore Semiconductor, Infrastructure Projects
The 700 MW project will generate 2,738 million units of energy and provide 12% free power to Arunachal Pradesh, supporting local employment and infrastructure development.
- On Tuesday, the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs approved an Rs 8,146 crore investment for the 700 MW Tato-II Hydro Electric Project in Shi Yomi District, Arunachal Pradesh.
- Amid efforts to boost energy security, the project aims to improve Arunachal Pradesh’s power supply and support Aatmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan objectives.
- The Centre will extend Rs.458.79 crore for roads, bridges and transmission line, along with Rs 20 crore for social infrastructure, to Arunachal Pradesh.
- With the approval, Arunachal Pradesh benefits from compensations, employment, and CSR activities for the local population, according to the CCEA.
- Over the next 72 months, the joint venture between North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Ltd. and the Arunachal Pradesh government will execute the 700 MW project, generating 2,738.06 MU annually.
