BYU's AJ Dybantsa, Duke's Cameron Boozer, UNC's Caleb Wilson Headline Forwards in NBA Draft
The projected No. 1 pick is drawing interest from both teams as they weigh fit and draft-night options, according to ESPN and The Athletic.
On Wednesday, former BYU star AJ Dybantsa expressed confidence he will be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, though he acknowledged uncertainty surrounding the event at Barclays Center in Brooklyn on June 23.
ESPN's Brian Windhorst reported that Ace Dybantsa, the prospect's father, shared a photo featuring Washington Wizards and Utah Jazz T-shirts, signaling interest from both franchises in the upcoming draft.
The Utah Jazz are "genuinely torn" between Dybantsa, national collegiate player of the year Cameron Boozer, and Kansas guard Darryn Peterson, who has limited his pre-draft workouts to the Wizards only.
"You never want to just be too stuck on just on going to visit one team," Dybantsa explained, emphasizing that evaluating different organizations helps prospects understand what each franchise offers.
Washington's front office will delay its final decision until closer to draft night, while Utah must make an immediate choice once on the clock at Barclays Center on June 23.
