Byrnes, Hegarty and Hayes up for hurler of the year
The All-Ireland champions have 13 nominees, while three players are shortlisted for Hurler of the Year and three for Young Hurler of the Year.
- All-Ireland champions Limerick lead this year's PwC All-Star hurling nominations with 13 players included on the list. The haul reflects their success in reclaiming major titles.
- Eight counties are represented among the 45 total nominees, with Galway following Limerick with 11 players. Cork received seven nominations, Clare six, Dublin three, Offaly and Waterford two each, and Kilkenny one.
- Two former winners, Diarmaid Byrnes and Gearoid Hegarty , will contest the Hurler of the Year award. Cork attacker Brian Hayes completes the trio of contenders.
- Jason Rabbitte and Cillian Trayers from Galway are nominated for Young Hurler of the Year alongside Cork's William Buckley after their breakthrough campaigns. All three enjoyed standout seasons.
- Friday, October 30, 2026, marks the PwC All-Star banquet at the RDS, where winners will be honored. The ceremony recognizes exceptional standards reached throughout the season.

Hurling All-Stars: Limerick earn 13 nominations, Galway get 11, and seven for Cork
Limerick’s 13, the same as Tipperary’s figure when they lifted the Liam MacCarthy Cup in 2025, is one better than their All-Ireland winning haul in 2022, and one less than their 2020 and ’23 successes. In 2018 and ‘21, they had 15 feted.
