Growing Anger Towards Stablex: Protesters Criticize Legault Government's "Shameful" Gag Order

The CODEF (Comité de défense de l'environnement de Frenière Boucle de Seine) has again mobilised itself against the project to expand a hazardous waste landfill of the SERAF (société d'exploitation et de réveloppement de la pite marmitaine), near Rouen (Seine-Maritime).

Protesters denounced the expansion of Stablex industrial waste in Blainville on a land of high ecological value.

Legault passed this bill authorizing the expropriation of land in the City for the benefit of Stablex.

After a gag from the government and a setback before the courts, the anger against Stablex and its expansion project intensified in Blainville.

A large number of protesters, including several political figures, gathered on Saturday against Stablex's expansion project. The Legault government passed earlier this week Bill 93, allowing the expropriation of land owned by the City for the benefit of the company.
