Buffalo meat, not beef: Lab report debunks mob’s claims in Aligarh attack case

“We have got the report from the Mathura lab confirming that the sample sent for testing was buffalo meat, and not beef, as alleged by those who stopped the vehicle and beat up the four occupants,” SSP (rural), Aligarh, Amrit Jain said.

On May 24, in Panethi area of Harduaganj police station area of Aligarh, four people were brutally beaten up on the charge of carrying banned beef from Al Ammar Slaughter House. The people who beat them were said to be associated with a Hindu organization. After the incident, the police sent the meat recovered from the spot to the FSSL lab, according to its report, the meat recovered was not banned meat.
