The former government minister Bayrou, saying that he was "worried for the next 18 months", called for Sébastien Lecornu not "to leave in this generous idea, but not to work, to say that there will be no 49.3".
Article 49.3 of the Constitution allows for the adoption of a text without a vote unless a motion of censure has been adopted in return, and for the time being it has been excluded by the Government.
According to former Finance Minister Eric Lombard, excluding 49.3 from the budget negotiations is a "generous idea, but not working".
Eric Lombard called this Sunday the government to a "quick change of method" to adopt a budget for 2026, and slammed the concessions granted to the PS, including the suspension of the reform
