Budapest gold scam: Elderly victims allegedly drugged, cheated out of millions

During the scam, the elderly were also able to obtain gold and a property worth 145 million forints. The police seized nearly 200 million forints worth of gold.
They tricked their victims with gold and real estate scams and fear-mongering.
Police suspect three people of running an illegal gold buying business, where they defrauded hundreds of millions of forints, mainly from the elderly.
Elderly people were defrauded of their wealth in Újbuda using sleeping pills and a tricky contract, the police cracked down on the family - The criminal organization is behind bars.
Some were tricked into selling gold, others were trying to damage their property and were not deterred from putting pressure on the victims.
