- On August 21, 2022, deputies in Latah County pulled over Bryan Kohberger for traveling at least 42 mph in a 35 mph zone and not wearing a seat belt, at about 11:40 p.m.
- During the stop, Bryan Kohberger told the Idaho sheriff's deputy he was 'obviously an honest person' after admitting he wasn’t wearing his seat belt and receiving a $10 citation.
- As part of a plea deal, Bryan Kohberger pleaded guilty to four counts of first-degree murder and burglary, avoiding a trial and death sentence earlier this month.
- Following the sentencing, some law enforcement agencies will release investigation documents now that Kohberger has been sentenced, and the white Hyundai Elantra from the traffic stop aided his arrest on Dec. 30.
