Brussels is said to be preparing sanctions against Slovakia

The European Commission is considering imposing sanctions on the Slovak government of Prime Minister Robert Fico "for failing to respect the rule of law", which could deprive the country of some EU funds. According to the Financial Times, a letter is already being prepared in Brussels warning Bratislava that it will face fines if it does not change its policy.
