Brunner: EU more important today than ever since its founding

The European Union is "more important today than ever since its founding," said EU Commissioner Magnus Brunner (ÖVP) at a ceremony marking Europe Day and Austria's 30th anniversary of EU membership on Thursday in the Parliament in Vienna. Security is threatened in the East and must be rethought in the West, Brunner said, referring to the changed geopolitical situation.
