British Airways: Transatlantic flight undergoes two successive diversions

British Airways flight BA252 took off from George Town (Grand Cayman) at 6:21 p.m. on Tuesday, April 8, for a one-hour scheduled stopover at Nassau (Bahamas), and then took off for its final destination, London. But over the Atlantic, the Boeing 777 departed to Gander International Airport, Newfoundland, Canada, after a passenger had a medical problem. Due to the unscheduled stopover at Gander, the flight time for the crew was now counted.
