The crew transmitted a Squawk 7700 while cruising at 38,000ft, declaring a general emergency aboard the Airbus A350-1000 en route to Heathrow Airport.
The aircraft remained on the tarmac for two hours to refuel before resuming its journey to Heathrow, while the airline said it was working to get passengers to their final destinations swiftly.
In recent days, multiple in-flight emergencies have prompted rapid landings and emergency responses, including a United Airlines flight that returned to Los Angeles International Airport around 11.20am on March 3.
