Britain's Prince George to go to prestigious Eton College
Kensington Palace said the 12-year-old passed Eton’s entrance exam as the £63,000-a-year school prepares to educate another future king.
On June 6, Diary Editor Richard Eden reported that Prince George will attend Eton College in September, noting an official announcement was "imminent."
George will follow his father, Prince William, and his uncle, Prince Harry, to the institution, as the Prince and Princess of Wales have reportedly steered him away from mixed education.
The Prince is set to transition from Lambrook School in Berkshire to Eton this September after successfully completing the common entrance exam.
Sources citing the "smartphone era" influenced the decision, as any image of the Prince could spread globally in "a moment," regardless of context.
Eton maintains historical prestige as the Prince prepares for his future studies, having educated 20 British prime ministers including David Cameron and Boris Johnson.
