Cooling centers are available to all residents across Cook County. The National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat warning for Cook County between 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday with heat indexes between 110 – 115 degrees expected. COLUMBUS, Ind. — Due to extreme high temperatures this afternoon and Thursday, the city of Columbus has opened a cooling station from 1 to 6 p.m. today and Thursday at Donner Center, 739 22nd St. The cooling station will offer a location for individuals who do not have air conditioning to visit and cool off.
