No Trams Here: Buses on the Cards as Coolangatta Leg of Light Rail Scrapped

The Queensland government cited nearly two-thirds community opposition and escalating costs possibly reaching $9.85 billion to cancel the Gold Coast light rail extension to Coolangatta.

Stage four of the light rail system would have provided trams from Burleigh Heads to Coolangatta, via the Gold Coast Airport and major tourist attractions.
