Kyle Busch Memorial Set for Oct. 9 at Charlotte Speedway
The free event will follow the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race, with more details on speakers and tributes still to come.
On Friday, NASCAR announced a public Celebration of Life for two-time Cup Series champion Kyle Busch, scheduled for October 9 at Charlotte Motor Speedway following the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race.
Busch, who died May 21 at age 41 from sepsis complications, retired as one of NASCAR's most accomplished drivers with 234 combined wins across the sport's top three series.
The free event is open to the public, providing fans and industry members an opportunity to gather in remembrance, NASCAR posted on its website. Additional details regarding speakers will be released in the coming weeks.
Since his passing, the racing community has paid tribute through commemorative patches and decals, while drivers continue sharing personal memories of the competitor whose aggressive style and remarkable talent defined an era of NASCAR racing.
Family members continue racing: his 11-year-old son, Brexton Busch, practices at Charlotte Motor Speedway, while NASCAR Hall of Famer Kurt Busch recently returned to competition, finishing third at Le Mans in France.
