No Criminality Suspected in Body Recovered From Kelowna Side of Okanagan Lake

Kelowna RCMP recovered the body of a man from Okanagan Lake near City Park around 7:45 a.m. On June 2, 2025.
This followed a separate incident where a woman, reported missing on May 31 near Evely Forestry Campground, was found deceased in the lake on June 1, with no criminality suspected in either case.
Police deployed a scuba recovery team and used a drone and boat to aid the search while taping off and temporarily closing part of City Park.
Constable Chris Terleski confirmed that the woman did not have a life jacket on at the time, and authorities indicated that both fatalities are being treated as non-suspicious with no threats to public safety.
Following investigations, the park has been reopened, while independent inquiries are being carried out by the BC Coroners Service to establish the circumstances surrounding both deaths.
