The meeting begins on September 23 in New York, headquarters of the supranational organization and Brazil recalls that its founding treaty of 1947 obliges the United States as host country to accept the entry of delegations. From the Brazilian Ministry they have indicated that "we cannot expect it not to do so" and has recalled that otherwise "legal actions" can be taken, according to the newspaper 'Folha de Sao Paulo'.
Relations between the countries are strained due to the criminal prosecution and conviction of Brazilian ex-president Jair Bolsonaro.
