Brazil recorded 2,357 fire outbreaks in March 2025, a 56.8% drop compared to the same period last year, when 5,448 such occurrences were recorded. The Amazon region accounts for the largest share of fire outbreaks, with 772 – or 32.8%. The data is from the BDQueimadas system of Inpe (National Institute for Space Research).
