Braves' Acuña leaves game at White Sox with tightness in left hamstring, his 2nd injury of season
Eli White replaced him after Acuña limped off, and the Braves said the initial diagnosis was left hamstring tightness.
On Tuesday, Atlanta Braves star Ronald Acuna left the game against the Chicago White Sox due to tightness in his left hamstring, with Eli White replacing him in right field.
This incident marks Acuna's second left hamstring injury this season; he previously spent time on the injured list after suffering a similar strain while running out a grounder.
The 28-year-old Acuna has seven homers and 22 RBIs this season and pulled up limping after attempting to beat out a grounder to Chicago third baseman Miguel Vargas.
A five-time All-Star and 2023 MVP, Acuna has endured serious knee injuries in his career, tearing his right ACL in 2021 and suffering a season-ending torn ACL in his left knee.
The Braves announced the initial diagnosis of hamstring tightness following the game and will monitor their star right fielder's recovery timeline closely.
