Early Election Results Show Brad Little Leading Republican Primary for Governor
Brad Little led the Republican primary with 59.56% of the vote as the AP called Jim Risch and Mike Simpson in Idaho races.
- On Tuesday, Governor Brad Little won the Republican nomination for governor in Idaho, receiving more than 60% of the vote as The Associated Press called the race at 9:41 p.m.
- Little enjoyed a commanding fundraising advantage heading into the primary, having raised more than $1.8 million in 2026—more than 10 times the amount of his closest challenger, Mark Fitzpatrick.
- Bar owner and businessman Fitzpatrick captured about 26% of the vote, or 16,655 total votes, but faced controversy as organizer of the poorly-attended and widely condemned Hetero Awesomeness Festival held across the street from the Idaho State Capitol in 2025.
- Voters also selected federal nominees: Mike Simpson won the Republican nomination for the House's 2nd Congressional District, Russ Fulcher secured the 1st District nomination, and Jim Risch won the Senate race.
- These primary election results remain unofficial until state officials certify the final vote counts on June 9, when the Idaho State Board of Canvassers meets to finalize the primary results.
