Bosnia's Serb Republic PM resigns to form wider coalition
The prime minister of Bosnia's autonomous Serb Republic (RS) said on Monday he would resign from his position, as part of a plan by his Serb ruling party to form a government based on a wider coalition with more decision-making power.
Milorad Dodik is no longer the president of the Republika Srpska (RS), and Radovan Višković is no longer the prime minister of the RS. The former refuses to accept the decision of the appellate panel of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, while the latter resigned yesterday from the post of Prime Minister of the RS.
Republika Srpska Prime Minister Radovan Višković, who resigned from his position today, stated that turbulent times await Republika Srpska and that it is necessary to overcome the challenges "in the most painless way possible."

Radovan Viskovic explained that his departure was his "contribution" to the establishment of a "wider consensus in Republika Srpska" while the president of the Bosnian Serbs, Milorad Dodik, was sentenced on 1 August to one year's imprisonment and six years' ineligibility – a judgement to which he refuses to submit.
