On 19 October 1999, the Borden brand announced, by fax, the closure of its operations on national soil.The brand withdrew from competition because they were not profitable due to market conditions, a year after being acquired by the multinational Nestlé. Now, almost 26 years later, the brand returns to the country marketing whole milk, semi-decremated, defatted, semi-decremated and delactated.
