Cologne Cathedral shines in new light

For three years, a new lighting for the Cologne Cathedral was worked on – the result is now being presented, on time for Easter Sunday.

The old lamps of the cathedral soft new LED spotlights. The modernization has cost more than 2 million euros. More than 60 percent of the energy costs are to be saved in this way.

The Cologne Cathedral shines with Bonn's help from Easter Sunday in a completely new light: the new lighting is switched on. The cathedral is illuminated to the top of the peaks at a height of 157 meters by 800 new LED lamps and spotlights.
