MANILA, Philippines — The Commission on Elections (Comelec), sitting as the National Board of Canvassers, completed on Thursday the canvassing of 175 certificates of canvass. The Commission on Elections (Comelec), sitting as the National Board of Canvassers (NBOC), on Thursday night wrapped up the canvassing of votes in the senatorial elections, with reelectionist Senator Christopher “Bong” Go topping the race.

Senator Loren Legarda has urged the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) to release election data to deepen public confidence in elections. He said by releasing more information, Filipinos will be able to better understand how people vote. The recommended release of election data will not reveal the names and other private information of voters but will show the voting patterns of the youth, regions and different sectors of society.
