The International Atomic Energy Agency announced that its team from the centre of the nuclear power plant in Zaporjie, Europe’s largest nuclear power plant, has heard more months of bombing nearby, which increases the risk of catastrophic consequences.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine condemned another dangerous escalation of the Russian Federation around the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant.
"These shots increase the risk to nuclear safety at the Zaporijia nuclear power plant, which has been deprived of electricity for almost two weeks," the organization said. "The plant's management stated that two shells had been shot at 1.25 kilometres from the perimeter."
Observers of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) reported that they heard a series of explosions about 1.25 km from the perimeter of the Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) in the occupied city of Enerhodar in the Zaporizhzhya region.
The shots were fired from the vicinity of the power plant, but also came from the opposite direction.
