The second blue plaque to a woman has been installed in Beeston, as a result of a Beeston Civic Society Lady Plaques campaign. Her name was Nan Green. She lived at Surrey Cottage, 12 Glebe Street, Beeston Nan Green was born in Surrey Cottage in 1904 and grew up in Beeston, attending West End School.
