- Gusty afternoon winds and rugged terrain near San Timoteo Canyon Road hampered early firefighting efforts, forcing crews to conduct much of the work on foot due to limited vehicle access.
- Over 255 personnel, including helicopter and engine crews, are battling the flames, according to Cal Fire. The agency requested a Very Large Air Tanker capable of carrying over 8,000 gallons of water to assist.
- Authorities issued two evacuation orders and 11 evacuation warnings for nearby residential and commercial zones. Valley View High School in Moreno Valley has been established as an emergency shelter for displaced residents and pets.
- Westbound lanes of the 60 Freeway reopened Tuesday morning after closure of more than 12 hours. "Traffic conditions and roadway access remain subject to change," officials said.
