BizLink to buy Interplex Datacom for $850 million to expand data center business
The deal gives Bizlink access to Interplex Datacom’s server and networking customers as AI infrastructure spending drives demand for connectors and enclosures.
- On Wednesday, CEO Felix Teng announced Taiwanese manufacturer Bizlink Holding agreed to acquire Blackstone's Interplex ICT unit for $850 million in cash, with a $50 million earnout included.
- Blackstone acquired Interplex for $1.6 billion in 2022, but the current sale price represents a roughly 15% discount from the initial asking range of above $1 billion, while retaining rebranded Ennovi assets.
- As cloud providers spend an estimated $650 billion on AI-related infrastructure this year, Bizlink gains access to Interplex Datacom's customer base in networking enclosures and servers.
- Integration risks remain as Interplex Datacom operates from Singapore while Bizlink is headquartered in Taiwan; the purchase represents more than a third of Bizlink's trailing twelve-month revenue of approximately $2.28 billion.
- Bizlink's shares have climbed 42% this year to roughly $13.3 billion market capitalisation, with the company expanding through acquisitions including its previous purchase of XFS Communications for optical interconnect capabilities.
