Pope Leo XIV accepted on Saturday 27 September the resignation of the bishop of Verdun from his pastoral office. In a statement published on the site of his diocese, Bishop Jean-Paul Gusching, 70, evokes "the worrying situation" of his state of health which requires "to follow adapted care".
