The 64-year-old described losing his voice as 'his worst nightmare,' leaving him uncertain whether he would ever perform again after the life-threatening condition required hospitalization.
His recovery was aided by encouragement from grandson Bear and listening to daughter Noah Cyrus's song 'Don't Put It All On Me,' written by son Braison Cyrus during his healing journey.
