- To provide long-term funding, Ackman transferred 10 million shares of Pershing Square Capital Management to the institute. The campus will occupy a 3.4-acre footprint on Manhattan's West Side, eventually encompassing roughly 680,000 square feet across multiple buildings.
- Rather than focusing on traditional academic publishing, the nonprofit will operate with a commercial orientation to accelerate medical tools to patients. Its advisory board includes Nobel laureate James Rothman and neurosurgeon Chris Kellner, who directed Lucy's care team.
- The family plans to contribute another gift of similar magnitude to cover early operational expenses. While remaining separate from higher education, the organization plans to collaborate non-exclusively with major hospital systems, including Mount Sinai.
