BHS Boys Tennis Falls at Connersville

Batesville boys tennis went all five varsity matches to open EIAC play at Connersville Thursday evening. Match results were: Varsity #1 Singles – Jevan Smith lost to Anthony Struewing 7-5, 6-4. #2 Singles – Carson Meyer lost to Jay McMillen 6-4, 6-1, 6-1. #3 Singles – Max Walter lost to Abel Parsley 6-1, 6-0. #1 Doubles – Will Patterson and Wes Peters lost to Evan Miller and Grady Simpkins 6-3, 6-1. #2 Doubles – Eli Doll and Coleman West lost to Eli Laughlin and Angelo Amora 6-3, 6-1. JV #1 Singles – Tyler Musick lost to Justin Kitchen 8-6. #2 Singles – Matthew Jensen lost to Hayden McGuire 8-4. #1 Doubles – Drew Nobbe and Parker Smith lost to Caigan Gettinger and Owen Jones 8-6. BHS coach Mitchell Taylor says a number of close sets made the difference in each varsity match. “Connersville is a tough opponent and the Bulldogs gave great effort across the board,” Taylor said. Batesville moves to 1-1 (0-1 EIAC) on the season.
