The fight over setting new subsidies marked the very beginning of the KDU-ČSL government at the Ministry of Agriculture. The introduction of the so-called payment for the first hectares, which helped smaller farmers, and the scrapping of the long-prepared subsidy plan in a matter of days, then divided agricultural organizations, and the argument over the payment settings continues to this day.
