Israel's foreign minister says it is closing British consulate in East Jerusalem
Israel said it will bar 12 British officials and end UK participation in Gaza coordination after London imposed sanctions on settlement goods.
- On Tuesday, National Security Minister demanded Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu close the British Consulate in East Jerusalem, calling it a "resolute response to British audacity" following UK sanctions on West Bank settlements.
- Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar announced that Israel would close the British Consulate in Eastern Jerusalem and expel British representatives from the Kyriat Gat Civil-Military Coordination Center in retaliation for Britain's settlement trade restrictions announced on Tuesday.
- Escalating beyond the consulate, Ben-Gvir demanded Israel recognize Argentina's sovereignty over the Falkland Islands, accusing Britain of "violently" stealing the territory and urging Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to impose sanctions on Great Britain.
