- RCMP say they were notified the same day and arrested Partanen, who was ordered to stay away from Campbell River during the court process.
- As part of his sentence, Partanen must register with the National Sex Offender Registry and provide a DNA sample, RCMP say.
- The Canadian Press reported on Jan. 21, 2026 that RCMP officials cautioned social media platforms can be `a major meeting place for those who wish to traffic and take advantage of young people`, highlighting online dangers.
