B.C. families among hundreds who fell ill at Mexican resort

A Maple Ridge family, including Sheena Robinson, reported becoming seriously ill with vomiting and diarrhea at Sandos Playacar Resort in Playa Del Carmen, alongside at least 100 other guests.
Robinson described their illness as "relentless" and noted issues with their hotel room, including a sewage smell when running the tap water.

The resort stated that it has reinforced sanitary protocols, closed the buffet area, and claimed that "no new cases have been reported to date".
