Celebrity Traitors Return Date Revealed by BBC
The BBC reality gameshow returns with an extra-long opening episode and a celebrity cast competing for up to £100,000 for charity.
On October 1, The Celebrity Traitors premieres on BBC One, with host Claudia Winkleman welcoming 21 new celebrities to a Scottish Highlands castle competing for up to £100,000 for charity.
Last year, the inaugural series became the most-watched show on British TV, with the finale hitting a peak audience of 15.4 million viewers and an average of 14.9 million during its run.
The BBC confirmed the October 1 start date after TV presenter Richard Osman and former contestant Joe Marler incorrectly predicted a September 23 premiere on The Rest Is Entertainment podcast; the cast includes Maya Jama and Michael Sheen.
Episodes will air two nights a week on Thursday and Friday evenings at 8pm, while sister show Traitors: Uncloaked airs on BBC One, BBC iPlayer, and BBC Sounds alongside the main series.
At last month's Edinburgh TV Festival, BBC content chief Kate Phillips promised "tears and surprises" in the new season, while special episode Traitor Or Faithful? will reveal how Winkleman selects the contestants.
