'Baywatch' Reboot to Premiere Jan. 6 on Fox
The 12-episode revival stars Stephen Amell as an adult Hobie Buchannon and adds a new generation to the lifeguard team.
- Fox announced on Monday that the Baywatch reboot will premiere Wednesday, January 6, 2027, at 9 p.m., with the network promising the series is "bringing sunshine to the winter."
- Showrunner Matt Nix, known for his work on "Burn Notice," leads the production, which follows Stephen Amell as Hobie Buchannon, a Baywatch Captain following in his father Mitch's footsteps.
- Jessica Belkin plays Charlie Vale, Hobie's daughter, while original series star David Chokachi reprises his role as Cody Madison and Livvy Dunne makes her acting debut as Grace.
- Fox promises "fans can expect all the adrenaline-fueled rescues" and beachside heroics that defined the original, now with a renewed mission to save lives along Los Angeles beaches.
- Airing on Wednesday nights, the show marks Fox's first scripted programming in that slot since 2024, following production that began in Los Angeles in the spring of 2026.
