- On Friday, Governor Bala Mohammed, Governor of Bauchi State, appointed his elder brother Alhaji Adamu Mohammed, Emir of Duguri Emirate, with Aminu Hammayo, Secretary to the State Government, presenting the letter at the Duguri Emirate palace, Alkaleri Local Government Area.
- Daily Trust reported the governor signed a law creating 13 new emirates, enabling Governor Bala Mohammed to install traditional rulers across Bauchi State.
- Aminu Hammayo also presented an appointment to Alhaji Jibrin D. Hassan as Emir of Bununu Emirate, who thanked Governor Bala Mohammed and promised not to disappoint the government or the people.
- The new monarch pledged loyalty to the Bauchi State Government and the Bauchi Emirate Council, while Emir Adamu Mohammed thanked Governor Bala Mohammed and prayed for God’s blessings upon him.
- Aminu Hammayo urged the traditional rulers to support government policies and programs for sustainable growth and development and to promote peace, unity, and respect for the law.
