- Amazon MGM’s United Artists and Scott Stuber acquired the rights to the not-yet-titled reboot, with Joe Eszterhas returning to write the script.
- Despite its mixed reviews, the film became a cultural phenomenon, with the legendary interrogation scene defining the erotic thriller genre.
- On the production side, Joe Eszterhas signed a $4 million deal to pen the script, and production is led by Scott Stuber, Nick Nesbitt, Craig Baumgarten and Adam Griffin.
