Mizzou Baseball Drops Game Two Against No. 6 Texas Despite Six-Run Seventh Inning
Texas built a 10-0 lead and finished with 14 hits as Mizzou’s seven-run rally in the seventh fell short.
On Friday, the Texas Longhorns clinched the series against the Missouri Tigers with an 11-6 victory at UFCU Disch-Falk Field, handing Missouri its 23rd Southeastern Conference loss.
An early 10-0 lead fueled the Longhorns, bolstered by a grand slam from Carson Tinney and a solo home run by Casey Borba before Missouri's seventh-inning rally.
Pitcher Luke Harrison delivered 6 innings of work, allowing just one run while Texas collected 14 hits to Missouri's six.
"Can't spot a team 10 runs," Missouri coach Kerrick Jackson told Tiger Radio postgame, as the Tigers attempt to salvage a win before Tuesday's tournament.
The teams conclude their regular season at 2 p.m. Saturday in Austin, with the Tigers seeking to improve their 6-23 conference record before the tournament.
