On Saturday, 2 August, the Prefect of the Bas-Rhin banned access to a neighbourhood where a strong Jewish community resides to a pro-Palestinian demonstration. The organizers denounced a "infringement of freedoms".
A demonstration in support of the Palestinian people was banned by the Strabsourg admistratif court, which validated a prefectural order taken because of the risk of "overbursts". The mobilization thus turned into a static rally on Saturday, 2 August.
