A major tragedy was averted during the Vat Savitri fast in Patna. Women were praying under a banyan tree in the Fatuha block office complex when the tree suddenly caught fire. The flame from a ghee lamp lit by the women ignited the dry threads wrapped around the tree. The fire spread so rapidly that the entire banyan tree was engulfed in flames.
